Obviously at the heart of the evangelical distinctive is the view of the nature of Scripture. One of evangelicalism’s most basic presuppositions is that the Bible is inspired by God. This leads evangelicals to include God in their concept of biblical authorship. Likewise they understand that the Bible is God’s Word to His people, including people today.
